TEAM COMMITMENT

Attend EVERY Scheduled Practice

Skills training, lesson plans and game preparations are all built one step on top of another. Coaches will not have the opportunity to help players “catch up.”  If you know you must miss a practice, you must call the coaches in advance.  Phone numbers will be given out once teams are assigned.  It will be your responsibility to make up the practice session that you missed.

Attend School on Match Days

Players are not expected to miss school on match days due to OSS, ISS, or any other behavior related incident.

Attend EVERY Match (Varsity, Junior Varsity)

On match days, Lady Mustang Volleyball athletes must attend each other’s matches, as well as their own.  The team not playing may be asked to help officiate the other match and/or record statistics and help during warm-ups and cleanup.  No one may leave a match early unless she receives permission from her coach; that permission is typically only given for extreme circumstances.

Have Transportation Provided Responsibly

Have transportation planned ahead for all practices, camps, matches, tournaments, etc. that we plan to participate in according to our upcoming fall schedule.  Parents are requested to be on time for pick-ups or make arrangements with a teammate for pickup.

ANY player that is habitually picked up LATE for any practices, games, team events, etc. will be subject to dismissal from the team. This is a coaches’ decision – the administrators of KDDC will not handle any discipline issues due to the fact that this is a CLUB team and all decisions rest with the coaches.

Avoid Other Conflicts

Before you plan anything outside volleyball, please check with your coach for any VB obligation that you may be interfering with.  Try to avoid conflicts.  Players are not encouraged to participate in, work out with, or practice with any other sports teams during volleyball season.  Players are expected to not miss volleyball practices, games, or other commitments due to another sport or activity.

If you are planning to play fall soccer for the Lady Mustangs or Rec. League fall soccer – our schedules DO CONFLICT – you will not be able to participate in 2 team sports at the same time for the Lady Mustangs.  Basketball DOES NOT CONFLICT with our schedule and we work well with other coaches on workouts, etc.

Summer Workout Commitment

June practices are NOT mandatory.  We will begin organized practices around July 6th – all players are expected to be at summer practices, team camps, etc. and participating fully in their off-season workout program so they can be ready for practices at their top level.

Monetary Commitment

****** Team fee is $200 per player ******

This needs to be paid before the last practice of June.

All team fees go directly towards jerseys, equipment, referee fees, concession stand start- up, etc.

Players may also be asked to attend optional team camps, special clinics, etc. that may require additional monies.  For example, our team camp will cost $50.

Our program has been growing steadily and we would like to be able to buy the girls something nice (jacket, sweater, sweat shirt, etc.) at the end of the season. We hope to continue our trend of growth this season as well, and we are also considering additional fund raising opportunities to help cover any unforeseen expenses that may arise.

For parents, we will have optional parent shirts, jackets, etc. for purchase in the summer and during the season.
